Painted Turtle Study: Update and Important Reminder

    In the past few feeding times, we've been making a lot of progress with the turtles. Most of the turtles completely trust us, come up the ramp for bread and eat out of our hands. We feed about 10-15 at a time but there are still hundreds in the whole pond, though the news of bread travels fast. So far we've seen four babies, two elders and a whole bunch of medium sized ones. A few nights ago, we tried feeding them some greens which they definitely did not enjoy.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

PLEASE do not put any nets into the pond under any circumstance because this risks jeopardizing the trust we've worked hard to build with these turtles. You may do anything you want BUT take the turtles out of the water or even let them see a net. 

There will be severe consequences.

The next person spotted will be fined.
