The Leech Mystery

    Yesterday morning, Camp Block Island ventured out in the tick and poison ivy fields towards Fresh Pond. Their reward? Perfect tempered water, nice hot weather, deep muck and algae and large rocks for jumping off. Though while taking a break from swimming and catching minnows, eating lunch and warming up in the extremely hot sun, Camper Isaac Garrison was astounded to find a black, long, multiple legged, supposedly bloodsucking creature on their thumb after swimming through the lily pads in the fresh water. After potentially traumatizing everyone at camp of this "leech", Isaac finds out from Counselor Kim it was not a leech, but a black caterpillar species living on the lily pads. After this mishap, everyone proceeded to get back in the water.
