Island Happenings
By Camilla Garrison
HPP is back at the HP! Lets take a look at whats been happening here on Block Island.
July 18, Block Island summerers Hannah, Chris, Camilla and Isaac Garrison (plus cats) made their way over to the island, a shorter venture than previous years, only a thirty minute drive to the boat (or less depending on the speed of your motorcycle) and the regular ferry trip. Weekenders Noah and Victoria were out as well.
Light Snacks
The snack truck at the North Light reopened this summer. Run by Pam and Julia Gasner as well as recent hire Isaac Garrison, the ‘Light Snacks’ provides just that: bags of chips, candy and drinks like Gatorade, water and other sports drinks to unprepared vacationers hiking up the beach to the Lighthouse or cycling the island. Stop by on a sunny afternoon!

Farmers Market in the Family
The Farmers Market is still going strong after many decades but changes ever so slightly every year. This season, another of the family who ate the world joins the vendors, three separate stands are family with Noah and his cutting boards, Julia and her jewelry and Madison and her bread (bunny bread!). Support the fam!
Beach Mystery
On an evening beach walk, the Garrison kids discovered a strange object in the water south of state beach. A broken signpost with a long length of caution tape, buried under the water. The plastic tape didn’t seem to be very professionally attached, and everyone was very confused as to what it was. Camilla and Isaac were advised against pulling at it, but were determined to find out the cause of the beach mystery.
